ALTEN develops today a range of services specially designed to meet the requirements of its customers regarding Corporate Social Responsibility. Thanks to its commitments and its wealth of multidisciplinary skills, ALTEN supports its customers in the development of environment-friendly solutions, thereby ensuring that they took benefit from this sustainable development approach.

In 2009, for example, the ALTEN Group supported various customers with regard to issues concerning:

• sustainable mobility: developing more lightweight structures through the use of new materials, hybrid and electric power-unit control allowing optimisation of NOx emissions into the atmosphere, work on biofuels
• the environment: systems for optimising the route of waste collection vehicles, setting up wind farms
• eco-design: virtual validation of mechatronic systems, without recourse to physical testing

In another example, ALTEN Belgium is participating in the launch of a "Brussels mobility" website. By clicking on the sections developed with the help of ALTEN, users can obtain real-time information about urban traffic, air quality or advice on the "mobility of tomorrow".
