ALTEN and Sustainable Development
Against a backdrop of widespread internationalization of sector challenges and risks, stricter regulations and rapidly changing technologies, ALTEN embraces its role of sector leader by integrating the challenges of Sustainable Development into its Group strategy.
ALTEN is committed with all the ALTEN subsidiaries to find a coherent and viable long-term balance between 4 stakes:
ALTEN's commitments
Membership to the United Nations Global Compact
Since July 2010, ALTEN is committed to United Nations Global Compact, an international initiative which gathers companies, United Nations agencies, business organisations and the community groups in order to support the universal principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.
“We decided to renew our involvement to the United Nations Global Compact, and we support the ten universal principles bearing on ethics, the environment and labour law. We are committed to respecting the rules that govern us within our sphere of influence.” Simon Azoulay, Chairman and CEO
SYNTEC Engineering Voluntary Commitment
As part of the voluntary agreement signed in 2010 with the French Ministry of the Environment, SYNTEC ingénierie – the federation of engineering professionals, of which the ALTEN Group is a member – has developed projects and tools to improve the recognition of Sustainability issues by its stakeholders, and to accelerate the implementation of the decisions made at France’s Environment Summit. The focus was mainly on the construction industry, on mobility, on corporate social responsibility, and on biodiversity. The works also led to the creation of the Project Sustainability Logbook (CBDD® - “Carnet de Bord Développement Durable).
