The Sustainable development is, according to the definition proposed in 1987 by the World Committee on Environment and Development in the Report Brundtland, «a development which meets the needs of generations of the present without compromising the capacity of the future generations to be answered in theirs.»

ALTEN’s Sustainable Sevelopment strategy consists in finding a coherent and viable balance long-term between 4 stakes :

The conciliation of the economic growth with an accompaniment of customers in the development of innovative eco-design solutions or which favour sustainable mobility;
A responsible social policy, with skills development, mobility/careers management and personnel development;
the reduction of the environmental impact of our activities, with a responsible approach to protect natural resources and better manage waste more effectively;
A societal commitment designed to help young graduates into their first jobs thanks to partnerships with the engineer’s high school , promote the image and the values of the engineer’s job, support the scientific research and technological innovation.

Membership in the world pact of United Nations

ALTEN is signatory of the World Pact of United Nations, an international initiative which gathers(collects) companies, agencies of United Nations, members of the business world and the community groups to support the universal principles in environment, in ethics and in labor law. The Group ALTEN so makes a commitment to conform to 10 principles of the World Pact

Agreement of Voluntary Commitment of the SYNTEC Engineering

In the name of engineering companies, SYNTEC engineering signed an agreement of voluntary commitment on February 12th, 2010 with the Ministry of the Sustainable Development. This agreement is the fruit of a project matured collectively by the professionals of the engineering and all the managements of the MEEDDM, and plans the implementation of new tools to reach the objectives of Grenelle of the Environment
