What is the recruitment process?

After assessment of the initial application, candidates are invited to attend in-depth interviews. The interview is a key part of our recruitment process : for us it is a question of finding out as much as possible about your education, your skills, your motivation and, therefore, your ability to fit in.
From this viewpoint, and to enable you to get a good idea about Alten and the post on offer, you would meet someone from the team, the Agency Manager and, finally, the HR director.


What is my role at ALTEN, outside of the project on the client site?

In parallel with your project you might have one of the following roles within ALTEN :

- Agency Technical Head : You take on technical responsibility within the agency. You fulfill a technical management role with the agency consultants, participate in the organisation of technical conferences, and in the selection and induction of new joiners.
- Site Head : You are ALTEN's key contact with the client. You are also leading the team of ALTEN engineers on site.
- Represent your Skill Centre : as a key member of a skill centre you participate in the delivery of training, help put together bids for tender, and provide technical support as part of a network of experts. You are a consultant on consulting assignments.


Can I choose my projects?

Certainly. Our organisation into agencies enables you to choose your project. Having defined with you your professional aspirations and skillset, your Agency Manager puts forward your candidature to the sales and marketing team. When a project meets your requirements you are contacted by a Business Manager.


How can I develop with ALTEN?

From your induction, you and your Agency Manager define your development plan. It is then reviewed at your annual appraisal. With your Manager you establish action points regarding the market sectors into which you want to develop and the technologies in which you want to be trained. In short, you define you own future.


What training does ALTEN provide?

On top of regular training courses, ALTEN has set up its own training University. This melting pot of skills will enable you to understand the latest issues and to gain innovative knowledge and know-how. It covers subjects such as Project Management and the methodologies reflecting the diverse domains in which ALTEN operates.


What support is available to me during my project?

The technical Management Team and Skill Centres are there to support you throughout your project. Stuck on a technical issue? Let the Head of the relevant Skill Centre know and he or she will put you in touch with other ALTEN engineers who are able to help you find a solution.


What can the Skill Centres do for me?

The purpose of the Skill Centres is to leverage our knowledge by creating a network of our engineers. This makes the wealth of everyone's expertise available for the benefit of whoever needs it. The Skill Centres ensure the development of your skills, and play an active role in your career development..


Will I get training?

Of course. Training may take place :
- At the start or during the course of your project, at your request or at the request of the client
- As part of your personal development (project management, leadership….)
