Just the Woman I Am: ALTEN Italy runs 5KM to support the cancer researchers at the University of Turin

Since 2014, Just The Woman I Am is the yearly Italian running event dedicated to raising funds for university health and cancer research, all while promoting prevention, healthy lifestyles, inclusion and gender equality. The 5 kilometer run/walk is open to all and scrictly takes place in the first week of March, coinciding with International Women’s Day! This year, ALTEN Italy has decided to kick-start the ALTEN 100KM Challenge by running these 5 solidarity kilometers in the heart of Turin.

FRILØBET: ALTEN Denmark runs 10KM in support of the Danish Cancer Society

The Danish Cancer Society is a democratic membership organisation with more than 400 000 members. Their vision is: a life without cancer. They have made it their mission to reduce the number of cancer cases, increase survival rates, and improve the lives of those living with cancer. The group’s main activities consist of research, patient support and prevention. As it is one of ALTEN Group’s CSR commitments to support institutions combatting cancer, ALTEN Denmark has chosen to demonstrate their solidarity by running their 10 kilometers representing this cause.

MARCHA CONTRA EL CÁNCER: ALTEN Spain runs 10KM to support cancer research

The Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer, or AECC, is a Spanish non-profit organisation founded in 1953, by cancer patients, relatives, volunteers, collaborators and health professionals. Today, AECC has built a large network and has developed their activity all throughout Spain. The four strategic pillars that guide AECC’s activities and initiatives are: information & awareness | cancer patients support | research | advocacy & lobbying. Marcha contra el Cáncer has been dedicated to raising awareness and funds for this NPO for the past 11 years!

10KM DE LAUSANNE: ALTEN Switzerland runs 10KM in support of the Swiss Cancer League

For the Ligue Suisse contre le Cancer, it is simply about putting people first. The Swiss Cancer League is a national organisation that advises, supports and informs those affected by cancer. The League is committed to cancer prevention and screening, the promotion of industry-independent scientific research and support for cancer patients and their families. ALTEN Switzerland will be supporting the Swiss Cancer League while running their 10 solidarity kilometers, all to contribute to cancer striking less often, causing less suffering, finding new cures, and providing the needed comfort to the patients and families affected.

CORRIDA SÁUDE & SOLIDÁRIA: ALTEN Portugal runs 10KM in solidarity

The Health + Solidarity Race, organised by the Students Association of the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon (AEFML), aims to promote not only physical well-being and health, but also the spirit of mutual help and, above all, solidarity. For this 11th edition, all profits obtained will be donated to 3 portuguese institutions.

BMW HELSINKI10: ALTEN Finland runs 10KM to support Save the Children

Save the Children Finland, established in 1922, is the world’s leading independent child protection organisation. Their mission is to ensure that every child, in Finland and around the world, has the right to safety, education, and the chance to be heard. Every single day, Save the Children works tirelessly in over 100 countries to stand up for children’s rights, well-present even in the most critical areas.

20KM DE BRUXELLES: ALTEN Belgium runs 20KM in support of Oxfam

Oxfam is a global movement of people fighting inequality to end poverty and injustice. Alongside thousands of partners and allies, they empower communities to build better lives, strengthen their resilience and protect their livelihoods, even and especially in times of crisis.

BLODOMLOPPET: ALTEN Sweden runs 10KM to support blood donation

The English translation of the Swedish word, Blodomloppet, is “Blood circulation”. In recent years, this running & solidarity event has attracted over 100,000 participants each year and approximately 1 of 7 participants were a previous blood donor.
Blodomloppet’s vision is a one of a healthier and better prepared Sweden by preventing blood shortages, doing so by normalising and raising awareness for blood donation.

PINK PARADE: ALTEN Italy runs 5KM to support the Veronesi Foundation!

ALTEN Italy will be running 5 more solidarity kilometers during the Pink Parade in Milan. This race will be supporting the Umberto Veronesi Foundation, a foundation that has been committed to promoting excellent scientific research and projects for prevention, health education and dissemination of science for the past 20 years. The activities of the foundation evolve every day, reflecting the vision of its founder Umberto Veronesi, a doctor who dedicated his life to developing innovative scientific knowledge to put it at the service of the well-being of his patients and the society in which we live.

1/4 Marathon Eindhoven: ALTEN Netherlands runs 10KM to support cancer research

This year, the Marathon Eindhoven has chosen to support The Dutch Cancer Society (KWF). The Koninklijk Wilhelmina Fonds is a leading force in the fight against cancer, driving groundbreaking research, raising awareness, advocating for patients’ rights, and providing crucial support services. Through its multifaceted efforts, KWF empowers individuals and families affected by cancer, striving to improve prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and overall quality of life for patients across the nation.
