ALTEN Italia’s eleven offices serve a range of markets, from automotive and rail to industrial and life sciences. However, the aeronautics, space, and defense market is one of the largest.
ALTEN Italia’s top customers on this market are Leonardo, the world’s leading aerospace, defense, and security technology company, and joint French-Italian venture Thales Alenia Space, which specializes in telecommunications satellites.
“The year 2019 started with very strong growth on the helicopter market at ALTEN” said Andrea Bigliazzi, Coach Business Manager, Engineering Division, Aerospace & Defense in Italy.
“ALTEN is working intensively with Leonardo’s helicopter division in Milan to support their growth. We were able to meet the division’s needs, recruiting qualified staff and managing work packages with a high level of engagement.”
ALTEN Italy also recently won an important contract with Leonardo’s Aircraft division that will strengthen and consolidate the presence of ALTEN in the field of military aircraft.
Over the coming months, ALTEN intends to bring in new contracts with customers in the space industry and strengthen its presence in the center part of Italy.
ALTEN is already making organizational changes to gear up for the expected increase in the aerospace and defense industry.
“Most of our Aerospace & Defense business managers have technical backgrounds, and the 150 highly-specialized consultants in ALTEN Italy’s network have earned recognition for their expertise,” said Mr Bigliazzi. Moreover the new Aerospace, Defense & Security Technical Division will give ALTEN Italy greater autonomy in managing projects and will also provide training for additional consultants.
Italy’s aerospace and defense market is worth an estimated €13.5 billion per year and employs 45,000 people (2016).
