CONSULTING
Our core business, consulting, enables our clients to meet their needs by providing them with functional, technical, and support skills. Every project is carried out on client premises and based on our commitment to providing resources, time spent. Projects are under the responsibility of an ALTEN manager, guiding a team of ALTEN Engineers to then take charge of the project.
WORK PACKAGES
The Work Packages offering involves different levels of responsibility and risk-sharing, with the option of execution at the client’s site or on ALTEN premises. Supervised by the Technical Direction, Work Packages benefit from logistical resources provided by ALTEN and can include offshore structures for certain phases.
Our Work Packages offering represents a barrier to entry for competitors due to its advanced and meticulous processes and methodologies. The development of Work Packages has strong implications for both ALTEN and its clients, optimising productivity and sometimes requiring the overhaul of processes and technical interfaces.
A UNIQUE CAPACITY FOR OFFSHORE DELIVERY
ALTEN has offshore structures in Romania, Poland, Spain, Morocco, Mexico, China, South Korea, Vietnam, and India. The front office team, closest to the client, manages the project, while the remainder of the team works from an ALTEN offshore center. This setup ensures that client-specific expertise and language proficiency are maintained. Depending on the project, offshore involvement varies from 20% to 70%. We certify skills development by incubating offshore teams in the client’s country and by complementing this with temporary assignments in offshore centers. The global organisation of our Technical Direction guarantees that quality control and project execution processes are identical, regardless of the country where the activity is conducted. Today, over 7,000 consultants work in ALTEN’s delivery centers.
Our History
ALTEN was founded in 1988 by three engineers from prestigious French schools: Simon Azoulay, Laurent Schwarz, and Thierry Woog. Since its creation, the Group’s growth has followed three strategic axes: a high-level positioning in engineering services, continuously enriching its offerings through the development of new skills and services, and maintaining geographical proximity with its clients (both in France and abroad). At the heart of technological challenges and digital transformation, the Group has established itself as a global leader in engineering and IT services, working with key players in the industrial, service, and telecommunication sectors.
1988
Creation of ALTEN
Founded by 3 French engineers with top-ranking higher education, including current President of the Group, Simon Azoulay.
1999
Initial public offering on the 2nd Paris Stock Exchange.
2003-2006
International expansion
The Group becomes the European leader in Engineering and High Technology Consulting.
2011-2016
ALTEN exceeds 1 billion euros in financial turnover and generates 50% of its business abroad.
2018
ALTEN celebrates its 30-year anniversary with 30,000 employees and exceeds €2 billion in financial turnover.
