Digital Responsibility - ALTEN Group

Digital Responsibility

Knowing – Measuring – Improving

The global and innovative strategy implemented by ALTEN’s Digital Responsibility teams is designed to optimise the environmental impact of internal IT services, to rely on Innovation Labs to develop the footprint measurement and eco-design solutions of tomorrow and to put the Group’s expertise at the service of its customers and the transition of the digital sector.

As a reward for this approach, the Institut du Numérique Responsable awarded ALTEN the “Coup de Cœur” prize in the category “Organizational Strategy and Digital Responsibility”.

ALTEN’s Digital Responsibility Offer

“Today, digital technology has a significant impact on our planet: it accounts for 3.8% of greenhouse gas emissions. […] In view of this emergency, it is necessary to act to reduce this impact. “
Kamila Ouerdane, Practice Manager Cloud & Sustainability IT ALTEN.

This video presents ALTEN’s Digital Responsibility offer and the strategies for reducing the carbon footprint in information systems.

“EcoIOT4.0 – Eco-design of an intelligent sensor for predictive maintenance”

project ALTEN, winner of the ADEME 2022 call for projects

As a multi-sector industrial company and leading IT partner, ALTEN has a responsibility to support global eco-design initiatives ( Green IT, Green Product & Green Organisation ) and to be a driving force in environmental communication to help build a more eco-responsible future.

At a time when there is talk of Industry 4.0 and the massive deployment of connected objects to improve production, control resources, monitor data and thus reduce environmental impact and production costs, ALTEN, convinced that eco-design is adapted to the industrial systems of the Smart Factory , sees the need to consider the environmental impact of these objects from end to end, from the development of the industrial system and during its use.

With this in mind, the “PERFECTO 2022 EcoIoT4.0” project proposes the implementation of a measurement and eco-design tool for a global solution ( Hardware and Software ) and its experimentation for the eco-design of an intelligent sensor, in order to carry out predictive maintenance operations on cutting tools in a factory 4.0. Optimising these processes, avoiding breakdowns, making gains on the wear and tear of these tools as well as on energy consumption are the main objectives targeted by ALTEN, SIEMENS DI CS and GREENSPECTOR, with a concrete application in the factories of a leading partner in the aeronautical industry.

Smart Embedded Systems & Predictive Maintenance

ALTEN & STMicroelectronics have joined forces to boost your Smart IoT deployment on a large scale. These embedded systems perform automated missions, give contextualized alerts and provide high added-value services.

An ALTEN Lab dedicated to STMicroelectronics artificial intelligence solutions in Grenoble

In order to accelerate innovation in AI and as part of this partnership, ALTEN opened an Artificial Intelligence IoT Skills Centre in Grenoble in October 2022, dedicated to STMicroelectronics solutions.

Grenoble is a technology cluster with an international dimension, and has been recognised as the “European Green Capital 2022”. It is a city that is conducive to the development of innovation. This explains ALTEN’s decision to set up its new Lab here, enabling it to carry out projects with its customers based on all of STMicroelectronics’ AI solutions. The developments will be based on three main themes related to the Green Smart IoT:

  • The new services provided by smart products (ambient intelligence services);
  • New decentralised architectures with closer proximity to the data capture process (data mesh);
  • Targeted IoT cybersecurity (from hardware to embedded software).
