Strengthen ALTEN’s presence in the Grenoble area
Present in Grenoble since 2003, ALTEN has announced the opening of new premises. This inauguration follows the acquisition of Worldgrid at the end of 2024 and marks an important step in the company’s development in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
The new site brings ALTEN’s workforce in the Grenoble region to 700. This expansion reflects the Group’s commitment to supporting the local economy and getting closer to its strategic customers in the Energy, Electronics, Defence and Medical sectors.
“The opening of this site is a major step for ALTEN. It demonstrates our commitment to the Grenoble area, a driving force for innovation in France. Together with our partners, we intend to shape the industrial solutions of tomorrow,” says Stéphane Ougier, ALTEN Executive Director.
With this new site, the Group plans to increase its workforce by 80 new positions, recruiting engineers specialised in Electronics, IoT and Manufacturing 4.0.
Accelerate industrial innovation
A three-year investment programme will support research and development projects developed in partnership with Schneider Electric and STMicroelectronics to make the new site a catalyst for innovation. The solutions developed by the three players are designed to meet new industrial needs:
- Lean 4.0 Operational Excellence
- Maximising equipment performance
- Use of contextual data
- IT/OT convergence & cybersecurity
- Energy Management & Sustainable Development
The presence of a large-scale ALTEN Lab reflects ALTEN’s commitment to distributed automation for Industry 4.0. Already home to three demonstrators from the ALTEN & Schneider Electric partnership, future work will focus on intelligent sensors with embedded AI and digital twins.
With this new facility, ALTEN has confirmed its position as a key partner in the Grenoble technology ecosystem and reaffirmed its mission to support industry towards sustainable, high-performance transformation.
