ALTEN is committed to creating an environment where cultural diversity and each individual’s unique skills are valued. By fostering cross-border collaboration and global professional development, we build an ecosystem where every talent actively contributes to shaping an innovative and sustainable future.

This approach is founded on three core pillars: an engineering culture rooted in creativity and innovation, continuous development of human capital, and sustainable growth driven by rigorous management. It is this combination that makes ALTEN a financially robust company, true to its commitments and recognised as a trusted partner by its clients.

A Home for Engineers

Proud to be the “House of Engineers,” ALTEN invests in knowledge sharing and the professional development of its talent to drive innovation. The Group offers its employees a comprehensive mobility framework, whether functional or geographical. ALTEN provides pathways at all levels, as well as career progression within its four streams: Specialist, Project Management, Business Management, and Support Functions. International opportunities are also accessible within our global entities. By uniting their strengths and transcending borders, our employees embody the ALTEN model, where everyone can thrive professionally. Finally, our dynamic and inclusive human resources management promotes diverse career paths and skill development to build personalised professional trajectories.

Ethics and Responsibility as a Compass

ALTEN places ethics at the heart of its activities. The Group is committed to conducting its business in strict compliance with national and international laws and regulations, making compliance a priority across all its entities. This commitment is reflected in its strengthened governance, with a Board of Directors where half of the members are women, and a Gender Equality Index score of 89 out of 100.

A Sincere and Measurable CSR Commitment

As a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact since 2010, ALTEN embeds its strategy in a continuous improvement approach, aligned with the 2030 Agenda. This commitment is reflected in tangible results: an EcoVadis score of 85 out of 100 (top 1% in the sector), a CDP rating at level B, and a 60% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2019. For ALTEN, economic performance and social responsibility are not opposing forces; they reinforce each other.

Beyond the numbers, it is an ambition that guides the Group daily: to think about the future in the present and build tomorrow’s world today.

ALTEN stands out from other IT services companies through its unique approach, combining:

  • Agility: Blending the reactivity of a start-up with the expertise of a global leader, ALTEN immerses itself in innovative projects (AI, aerospace, energy transition).
  • Focus on Talent: Tailored training, mentoring, and internal mobility to accelerate careers and align personal aspirations with the Group’s ambitions.
  • Collaborative Innovation: 11 ALTEN Labs and industrial/academic partnerships to co-create sustainable solutions, recognised with awards (e.g., 2025 ESN & ICT Trophies).
  • Societal Impact: Transforming technological challenges into shared opportunities, with a responsible and inclusive vision.

Unlike other IT services companies, ALTEN focuses on people, agility, and open innovation to shape the engineering of tomorro

Absolutely, it’s at the core of the Group’s strategy. At ALTEN, innovation is not just a marketing claim; it’s a structured approach, driven by a network of 11 innovation labs worldwide, 100+ internal research projects (70% AI-based), and 36% of R&D dedicated to sustainable development.

Artificial Intelligence, a strategic imperative. Through its A³ (AI AT ALTEN) programme, the Group has accelerated the deployment of AI across its operations and client projects since 2024. Today, 65% of employees have been trained in AI, while 25% of technology projects and 75% of tenders now integrate AI tools. Two of the Group’s entities are entirely dedicated to AI and are ISO 42001 certified. ALTEN has also forged strategic partnerships with Mistral AI, Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and AWS, mobilising over 5,000 Data and AI experts to support clients in this transformation. AI accelerators are being deployed at the heart of the most strategic projects, embedding agentic capabilities into development environments.

Industry 4.0 and 5.0: Humans at the heart of tomorrow’s production. Through its Smart Factory 4.0 programme, ALTEN is reinventing industrial production by placing humans at its core. Leveraging IoT, 5G, digital twins, collaborative robotics, augmented reality, and additive manufacturing, the Group develops concrete solutions for sustainable reindustrialisation, predictive maintenance, and augmented work environments. The goal is clear: to create factories where technology aligns with human-centric values and where decarbonisation of production systems becomes the new standard.

Energy transition: A long-term commitment. ALTEN is a key player in the energy transition, working on large-scale strategic projects, including the EPR2 nuclear programme, extending the operational life of France’s nuclear fleet, developing Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), and connecting offshore wind farms. With the acquisition of Worldgrid in late 2024 and its subsidiary Anotech, the Group now covers the entire energy value chain, from Nuclear New Build to smart distribution, combining engineering, digital solutions, and end-to-end operational expertise.

These three areas reflect a deep conviction at ALTEN: technological innovation and environmental responsibility are inseparable in addressing tomorrow’s challenges. This is the essence of the Group’s ambition, to shape the future in the present.

GOVERNANCE & ORGANISATION

In 2025, ALTEN evolved its governance to support the ambition of a Group operating in over 35 countries, with 57,700 employees and €4.1 billion in revenue. The Board of Directors decided to separate the roles of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, a logical step to strengthen the Group’s operational efficiency and strategic vision.

The Board of Directors

Comprising nine members, with 50% women as of 31 December 2025, the Board of Directors sets ALTEN’s strategic direction and ensures its implementation, taking into account the social and environmental challenges of its activities. Simon Azoulay, the Group’s founder, serves as Chairman after over 37 years at the helm of ALTEN, now focusing on strategy and governance.

Executive Management and the Executive Committee

Cyril Malargé joined ALTEN in late 2025 as Chief Executive Officer, tasked with accelerating the Group’s growth and consolidating its technological leadership. He is supported by the Executive Committee, which brings together leaders from key geographic regions and functions, implementing operational measures aligned with the strategy defined by the Board of Directors.

This strengthened governance reflects the maturity of a Group that places ethics and responsibility at the heart of its activities, firmly believing that sustainable performance and rigorous governance are inseparable.

HISTORY & PERFORMANCE

Founded in 1988 by three engineers, ALTEN was built on the conviction that engineers are the architects of tomorrow’s world. In just over three decades, the Group has established itself as the global leader in Engineering and IT Services, supporting companies in their technological and sustainable transformation.

From €1.98 billion in revenue in 2017, ALTEN doubled in size in less than a decade, reaching €4.1 billion in 2025, with 57,400 employees across over 35 countries. This sustainable growth, driven by strong management and rigorous financial discipline, demonstrates the resilience of a model built on three core pillars:

  • Controlled international expansion.
  • A culture of engineering.
  • Development of human capital.

At ALTEN, innovation is based on a simple belief: combining industry expertise and technology to address clients’ challenges concretely. Far more than a strategic position, it’s how the Group builds tomorrow’s world today.

Since their creation in 2016, the 11 ALTEN Labs worldwide embody the Group’s innovative DNA. Over 100 research projects are conducted annually by consultants of all experience levels, exploring emerging technologies such as AI, Big Data, virtual and augmented reality, digital twins, and IoT. In 2025, 70% of these projects integrate AI, and 36% are dedicated to sustainable development, reflecting ALTEN’s commitment to technological excellence and environmental responsibility.

This approach is structured around the Smart Digital initiative, comprising nine cross-sector research programmes covering all the Group’s business areas from Smart Design to Smart Healthcare, including Smart Factory 4.0 and Smart Mobility. What sets this approach apart is its bottom-up nature: consultants, in daily contact with real-world challenges, directly define R&D topics, ensuring the relevance and concrete impact of the innovations developed.

To amplify this dynamic, ALTEN relies on a vast ecosystem of leading academic and industrial partners, as well as strategic technological alliances with Mistral AI, Google, Microsoft, and NVIDIA. This commitment was recognised with the 2025 Innovation Award from KPMG and Numeum, honouring the Group’s excellence in technological innovation for the digital and sustainable transformation of its clients.

Founded in 1988 by three engineers, ALTEN built its vision on technical excellence, agility, and human-centric values:

  • A conviction: innovating for useful and responsible technological progress.
  • A strategic partner for major corporations in their R&D and innovative projects, immersing itself in their challenges.
  • A demanding engineering culture, combining expertise and knowledge sharing.
  • A hybrid model: the reactivity of a start-up with the robustness of an industrial player.
  • People at the centre: training, mobility, and fulfilment as drivers of performance.

1. Internationalisation: Evolving from a French company to a Group operating in over 35 countries, with 57,400 employees from over 100 nationalities, doubling in size since 2017.

2. Differentiation: Establishing itself not just as a service provider, but as a trusted technological partner for major industrial clients, thanks to its dual expertise in Engineering and IT Services        .

3. Innovation: Structuring an ambitious and sustainable innovation approach through 11 ALTEN Labs, the Smart Digital initiative, and top-tier academic and industrial partnerships.

4. Talent: Attracting, training, and retaining the best engineers in the context of global skills shortages, making ALTEN a true “House of Engineers”.

5. CSR: Turning voluntary commitments made as early as 2010 with the UN Global Compact into measurable and recognised results, long before regulatory requirements.

6. Digital & AI: Integrating the digital revolution and AI into the core of client projects and internal operations, with over 5,000 Data and AI experts deployed across the Group.

7. Economic resilience: Navigating slowdowns (health crisis, automotive downturn, pressure on certain European markets) while preserving financial strength and commercial positions with major clients.

INNOVATION

Innovation at ALTEN is structured around three major focus areas, driven by 11 global innovation labs and over 100 annual research projects.

Artificial Intelligence as Universal Accelerator

Through the A³ (AI AT ALTEN) programme and a team of over 5,000 Data and AI experts, the Group integrates AI across client projects, internal services, and operations. Strategic partnerships with Mistral AI, Google, Microsoft, and NVIDIA further strengthen this ambition.

Sustainable Innovation

36% of ALTEN’s R&D is dedicated to sustainability, addressing decarbonised mobility, energy efficiency, circular economy, and green industry. The Group develops technological solutions that simultaneously tackle environmental and social challenges for its clients.

Industrial and Digital Transformation

Through the Smart Digital initiative and its nine cross-sector research programmes from Smart Design to Smart Healthcare ALTEN supports clients in modernising processes, adopting emerging technologies, and securing digital sovereignty.

For ALTEN, adapting to technological challenges means pushing the boundaries of innovation to build tomorrow’s world today.

Research and Development (R&D) is a strategic pillar at ALTEN, driven by a network of 11 innovation laboratories and structured around the Smart Digital initiative, which focuses its efforts on 9 programmes and over 100 active projects. The allocation of R&D resources reflects the Group’s key technological priorities.

These investments are concretely organised around three main axes:

Artificial Intelligence (AI), with 70% of research projects integrating AI and 30% of projects delivering a 30% optimisation gain. The Group deploys agent-based solutions, advanced data analytics capabilities, and code generation tools, leveraging strategic partnerships with Mistral AI, Google, and NVIDIA.

Cybersecurity and digital sovereignty, in a context of escalating cyber threats and strengthened European regulations. Cybersecurity, data, machine learning, PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), and digital twins are driving growth in the digital market and represent priority investment areas for the Group.

Sustainable innovation, including decarbonised mobility, energy efficiency, and the circular economy. ALTEN develops technological solutions that simultaneously address the environmental and social challenges faced by its clients, as part of a proactive policy led by its Innovation Department.

These investments are conducted in close collaboration with leading academic partners, such as CentraleSupélec, Mines ParisTech, and LAAS-CNRS, ensuring research that is both ambitious and grounded in real-world applications.

Since then, the Group has embedded its strategy in a continuous improvement approach, fully aligned with the 2030 Agenda and the CSRD Directive, regularly assessed by independent external agencies.

This strategy, grounded in a double materiality analysis, revolves around three key priorities:

  • People: ALTEN places diversity, skills development, and well-being at the heart of its HR policy. With over 100 nationalities represented, the Group actively promotes greater gender representation, achieving an 89/100 score on the Gender Equality Index, and ensuring a healthy and inclusive work environment for all employees.
  • Environment: The Group is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, having already reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 60% compared to 2019. By 2025, most of its workforce is covered by an ISO 14001-certified environmental management system.

The Group leverages its engineering expertise to tackle collective challenges, engaging employees in meaningful projects.

These commitments are recognised by the most demanding extra-financial rating agencies: an EcoVadis score of 85 out of 100, placing ALTEN in the top 1% of its sector, a CDP rating at B level, and an EthiFinance ranking that has improved by 7 points in just one year. For ALTEN, economic performance and corporate responsibility are not at odds; they reinforce each other, serving the interests of its clients, employees, and society.

ALTEN applies the same rigour to extra-financial performance as it does to financial results, using structured frameworks, external certifications, and independent assessments to track and verify real-world impact.

  • Environment: A 60% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2019, with targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), maintaining a CDP Climate Change rating at B level, and ISO 14001 certification covering the majority of the Group’s workforce.

  • Overall Rating: An EcoVadis score of 85/100, placing ALTEN in the top 1% of its sector, and an EthiFinance ranking that improved by 7 points in one year.

This data is transparently communicated in the annual report and subject to verification by an independent third-party organisation, in compliance with CSRD Directive requirements.

This rigorous measurement approach reflects a core belief at ALTEN: A commitment without measurable indicators is merely an intention. It is transparency and verifiability that turn ambitions into sustainable performance.
