Macroscopic Supply Chain Modeling

DISCO enables the modeling of the entire supply chain at a macroscopic level (warehouses, factories, transportation, and products) to identify the optimal coordination among stakeholders. The orchestrator analyzes flows, detects bottlenecks and risks, and helps balance cost, lead times, risk levels, and CO₂ emissions using a comprehensive scoring system.

This cross-functional view provides enhanced forecasting and management capabilities, particularly in times of stress or crisis.

Microscopic Modeling and Operational Management

At the operational level, DISCO leverages Siemens Digital Industries tools (Tecnomatix, AX4, and Supply Chain Suite) to create detailed models of industrial sites, warehouses, and transport flows. This approach enables the optimization of production capacity sizing, the simulation of various logistics scenarios, and improved management of distribution systems.

The digital continuity between these tools and DISCO enables strategic decisions to be linked to the realities of each stakeholder, resulting in a leaner, greener, and more resilient supply chain. To process data from multiple, potentially heterogeneous sources, ALTEN relies on technologies developed by INTERSYSTEMS to ensure the accuracy and representativeness of the data (whether real-time or not).

Traceability as a Service – Blockchain

All traceability data for a product and its components is recorded on a blockchain via TAAS, the Traceability as a Service tool developed by ALTEN. Every event in the product’s lifecycle is thus securely logged and can be accessed at any time to view the complete history, without any gaps or loss of information.

Through a partnership with SIGSCAN, traceability data is displayed in real time and enriched with operational information such as the product’s origin, status, responsible party, and destination. Using a QR code or a tag detectable in both indoor and outdoor environments, it is possible to instantly query the blockchain and access the associated information, which is continuously updated throughout the product’s journey.
